Filipino OFWs in Taiwan and Hong Kong will receive pay hikes in 2024 due to minimum wage increases mandated by the respective governments. Taiwan's new wage order approves a 4.05% increase in the monthly minimum salary for factory workers, raising it from NT$26,400 (P46,378.70) to NT$27,470 (P48,223.43). The minimum hourly wage also goes up from NT$176 (P312.80) to NT$183 (P321.48). In Hong Kong, household service workers or domestic workers with contracts signed on or after September 30, 2023, will benefit from a minimum allowable wage increase from HK$4,730 (P36,917.65) to HK$4,870 (P38,010.35), along with an increase in the food allowance to HK$1,236 (P9,649.98) from HK$1,196 (P9,334.78).
